1. Immigrants fearing deportation make plans for kids

    Alabama legislators, what else could you expect? You are taking away these peoples’ rights while scaring immigrant families and their innocent children away from education. What a perfect scenario. Let’s further the education gap for Latinos and show them how important their academic success is to us, by making STATISTICS more important than the school as a safe haven for youth. I hope that Alabama’s recent efforts to “crack down” on immigration, and the unexpected consequences to the community and economy, will show how wrong they (and many other states) are in their approach. Many blessings to the immigrant families that are forced to move out of fear, I wish you success in your relocation. Also blessings and thanks to the Alabama citizens (especially educators) who are reaching out to this population and making immigrants’ lives manageable despite the political atmosphere. You are truly making a difference.
